Our "Art Giveback" program is meant to not just assist those who are incarcerated save for hopeful reentry, but also to give back to society. This program is for incarcerated men and women who have an artistic talent.
Art is any form of artistic expression, whether it be poetry, jewelry making, visual graphic arts, crochet. There are no limits. We will not accept any work that is considered gang related, vulgar or sexual in nature. We also will not accept artwork that is any way a representation the artists crime.
A requirement, and what makes our program unique is that individuals who send art for sale will not only have opportunities to earn their own money but also give back to an organization of their choice. At this time, there are two options for giving back:
1. To the juvenile Restorative Justice programs at Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH) Incarcerated artists will be able to choose if they would like to donate to AHHAH Restorative Justice directly or more directly define if their donation will go to the Filmmaking or Step Up, Step Out (SUSO), a program for girls.
2. The Crime Victim's Center of Chester County.
Because our project is born in Chester County, we have selected local organizations we believe strongly in. Understanding individuals may want to give back directly to their communities, we will look at expanding options throughout the state in the future.
If you are interested in your incarcerated loved one participating in the Art Giveback program, please reach out to us or have them send us a letter!
